# What does Credit period mean in logistics?

Short answer

The number of days after invoice (or after POD submission) within which the customer must pay the freight bill.

Freight credit periods in India vary widely by customer. For suppliers registered as micro or small enterprises, the MSMED Act, 2006 caps agreed payment terms at 45 days, and delayed payments carry statutory interest. Ask our desk how this applies to your consignment.
