What does FASTag mean in logistics?
Short answer
A prepaid RFID sticker on a vehicle’s windscreen that lets toll plazas deduct the fee electronically without the vehicle stopping to pay cash.
Operates on the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) system run by NPCI. FASTag became mandatory at national highway fee plazas from 15 February 2021, and vehicles without a valid tag pay a higher fee. FASTag transaction data is also used to confirm a truck’s route.
