Custody
How we keep custody of your cargo.
On record from the first minute
Every consignment is booked against a lorry receipt number in the company register: who sent it, who receives it, what it is, what it weighs, and where it is going.
Watched on the road
Trucks on our control tower report live GPS, and refrigerated trucks report their box temperature too. Deviations and long halts go straight to a person who acts on them.
Cold chain you can check
For refrigerated loads we keep the temperature trace for the whole trip, including whether the box was pre-cooled before loading, so a cold-chain question can be settled from the record.
Proof of delivery
Deliveries are closed against a signed proof of delivery, and we are putting every one online against its consignment record.
Accountable by name
Your branch, your booking clerk and the enquiry line know your load by its number. Nobody has to chase.
Air, sea, rail and specialist work
One SSL desk plans the movement and stays accountable to you from pickup to delivery; specialist legs are carried by vetted operators. The operator on each specialist leg holds its own aircraft, vessel, site or licence, and SSL does not claim to own them.

Tell us the value of the goods when you book, and we explain how the load is covered before it moves.
Oversight
One record, watched by people.
SSL built its own control tower and runs it for a national cold-chain operation. One record joins the customer’s order, the truck placed against it, the live trip, the temperature in the box, the wait at the dock and the delivery, and the customer and every transporter see the same numbers. We name no client here without their written consent.
One record
Every figure is computed once, from the same data, so two reports can never disagree.
Honest when unsure
A missing reading shows as “awaiting data”, never as a guess.
Alerts to people
Temperature breaches, detention and missed placements reach the person who can act, while there is still time to act.
