What does National permit mean in logistics?
Short answer
A permit that allows a goods vehicle to operate across all Indian states, instead of only within its home state and the states it holds separate permits for.
Issued under the national permit scheme of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988: a home-state permit plus a national authorisation for which the fee is paid online.
