How it works

5 steps, one desk

1 Book at a branch or online Tell us the consignee, goods, packages and weight. Book To-Pay (consignee pays on delivery), Paid, or on a credit (TBB) account if you ship regularly.
2 Pack, mark and hand over Mark every package with the consignee and LR number. We weigh and measure it, then issue the LR, which is your receipt and tracking number.
3 E-way bill and linehaul Where the consignment value needs one, the e-way bill travels with the goods. Consignments are loaded onto a linehaul truck to the destination hub.
4 Hub sorting and delivery At the hub your packages are checked against the manifest and released to the consignee, at the branch or delivered, as booked.
5 Proof of delivery The consignee signs the LR copy; the POD closes the consignment in our records.

Part truckload (PTL), plainly

How it works, in detail

Part truckload (PTL) means you pay for the space your goods take, not the whole truck. You book a consignment at an SSL branch, we issue a lorry receipt (LR), and your goods ride with other shippers’ consignments on a linehaul truck to our destination hub, where they are sorted and handed to the consignee.

It suits consignments from a single carton-lot to a few tonnes: textile bales, auto components, engineering parts, FMCG cartons. Freight is charged per kg on the higher of actual and volumetric weight, falling as the weight slab rises.

Charged per kg by weight slab and lane, on chargeable weight. We do not publish rates: our desk confirms the price for your exact load, usually within minutes on whatsapp or a call.

How many part-load consignments does SSL move in a month?

In August 2026 Safe & Secure Logistics’ PTL network moved 37,574 lorry receipts carrying 4,69,159 packages on 1,271 linehaul trucks.

Which lanes does SSL’s part-load network serve most?

By FY 2025-26 consignment count: Surat to Bihar Sharif, Kanpur, Hazaribagh and Jamshedpur; Bhiwandi to Ranchi and Jamshedpur; Pune to Jamshedpur; and Bhilwara to Kanpur.

Can I book PTL “to pay” with SSL?

Yes. Most Safe & Secure Logistics part-load consignments are booked To-Pay, meaning the consignee pays freight on delivery. Regular shippers can open a credit (TBB) account.

What goods does SSL’s PTL network carry most?

Textiles lead: textiles and apparel were more than half of Safe & Secure Logistics’ FY 2025-26 consignments, mostly bales from Surat and Bhiwandi. Auto components, engineering parts and FMCG follow.

How is PTL chargeable weight calculated?

What is the difference between PTL and FTL?

PTL shares a truck across several shippers and is charged per kg. FTL books a whole truck for one shipper and is charged per trip. Safe & Secure Logistics runs both.

Is SSL an IBA-approved transporter?

Yes. Safe & Secure Logistics holds Indian Banks’ Association transporter approval, code CAS-1259, valid to 31 December 2027.

How do I track an SSL part-load consignment?

Use your LR (consignment note) number on the Track page, or send it to our desk on WhatsApp.

Does SSL deliver household goods or small parcels?

No. Safe & Secure Logistics carries business consignments between cities. Household shifting and retail parcels are not an SSL service.
