The Happiness Ledger

We say Delivering happiness since 1951. So we ask, and we publish the answer.

Every person who receives goods from us gets one question, “Did your goods arrive well?”, and five faces to choose from. What they tell us appears here, in aggregate, good and bad alike.

We have started asking. The first ratings will appear here.

Every number will be real, with the method shown.

No ratings have been counted yet. Nothing on this page is estimated, sampled from elsewhere or filled in.

What we are measuring

Six small moments we work for, every day.

  • A parcel arrives
  • A driver says all good
  • A receiver waves
  • Sunrise at the dock
  • A shop restocked
  • Delivered, with proof

The method

How the ledger is kept honest

The one question

“Did your goods arrive well?”

“क्या आपका माल ठीक से पहुँचा?”

  • 1 · Very unhappy
    बहुत नाख़ुश
  • 2 · Unhappy
    नाख़ुश
  • 3 · Okay
    ठीक-ठाक
  • 4 · Happy
    ख़ुश
  • 5 · Very happy
    बहुत ख़ुश

Optional follow-ups: what we could do better (on time · condition of goods · driver’s behaviour · communication), one line in their own words, and a phone or email only if they tick a consent box.

  1. Who is asked

Everyone who receives a consignment from us: a printed card handed over at delivery, and the same link on delivery messages once that channel is approved. We do not pick whom to ask.

  2. What we publish

The share of ratings that are happy or very happy (4 or 5 of 5), the average score, the full spread of all five faces and the number of ratings behind each figure. By month, by state and by service.

  3. No cherry-picking

Every valid rating counts, including every 1 of 5. We never drop, re-weight or “adjust” a rating. The builder script is published: scripts/happiness-aggregate.mjs.

  4. Minimum sample

No score is shown for any month, state or service until it has at least 30 ratings. Below that, the ledger says how many are in and shows nothing else. A region below 30 is counted in the total but not shown on its own.

  5. Duplicates and fraud

One rating per consignment (GR number); if a person changes their answer, the latest one counts. Ratings with no consignment number, from automated submissions (a hidden trap field, or sent faster than a person can tap) or flagged as spam are excluded, and the number excluded is published with the figures. Consignment numbers are checked against our own booking register before a month is published.

  6. Comments

Comments are read by our desk and moderated only to remove abuse, threats or personal details. A comment is never removed for being negative.

  7. Honest limits

People choose whether to answer, and unhappy and delighted people answer more often than the middle. We report the response count so you can judge the sample. This is a measure of how people felt, not an audit of on-time performance.

  8. Privacy

We never publish a consignment number, name, phone, email or comment. The consignment number is used only to match a rating to a delivery. Contact details are kept only when the person agrees to be contacted.

Why no stars in search

No star ratings until they are real and allowed

Search engines can show review stars for a business. We do not add that markup. Google does not show stars for reviews a business collects about itself on its own site (its “self-serving reviews” rule), and we will not mark up a number we have not yet earned. If that ever changes, stars will be added only from real ratings in this ledger, with the count and the date range shown beside them.
