How we count
Known data-quality issues, handled in every note
- Duplicates. 2,644 duplicate consignment numbers are removed; the latest entry is kept (515,860 rows → 513,216 consignments).
- Goods-value outlier. One consignment is declared at ₹376 Cr. It and anything above ₹25 Cr on a single consignment are excluded, which brings goods value from ₹11,436 Cr to ₹11,059 Cr.
- Weight outliers. 37 consignments above 50 t are excluded from tonnes. One records 174,661 t. Cleaned tonnes are 6.70 lakh; the raw sum is 8.58 lakh. A further 21,572 consignments carry a placeholder weight of 1 kg or less.
- FTL capture break. Full-truckload bookings are under-recorded from April to July 2025. Notes 3 and 5 use August 2025 onwards wherever FTL matters.
- Delivery dates. These exist for only 31% of consignments. Note 6 treats this as a non-random sample.
