What does CFR (Cost and Freight) mean in logistics?
Short answer
Incoterm for sea and inland waterway: the seller clears the goods for export, loads them on board and pays freight to the named destination port, but risk passes to the buyer once the goods are on board at origin.
Common in Indian export pricing. The buyer bears transit risk from loading, so the buyer arranges its own marine insurance. Ask our desk how this applies to your consignment.
