What does Consignor mean in logistics?
Short answer
The party that hands goods to a carrier for transport, usually the seller or shipper, as named on the transport document.
The consignor normally generates the e-way bill (Part A) and signs the goods forwarding note or booking instruction. For To-Pay bookings the consignor ships but the consignee pays the freight. Ask our desk how this applies to your consignment.
