Frequently asked questions

Who can invite SSL to a campus?
A faculty member, a student club, a placement cell or a head of department. If your institution wants a standing partnership, use the institution partnership door instead.
Is there a charge for a guest lecture or case session?
We do not charge institutions for a guest lecture or a case discussion. Travel for distant campuses is agreed case by case; many sessions can also run online.
Can students visit a branch or a loading point?
Visits are possible where a site can host a group safely and without disturbing customers' goods. Group size, safety briefing and dates are agreed in advance; some sites cannot host visits.
Which case studies are available?
Our cases are built on the public research library: seasonality and capacity planning, routing and transit promise, coverage and network design, mode choice: full vs part load. Each note publishes its data and its limitations, so students can check every number.
Do you recruit from campus?
Campus sessions are not a recruitment drive. Students who are interested can apply for internships or look at careers.
