How it works, in detail

Sea freight moves most of India’s trade by value. A full container load (FCL) gives you a box to yourself; less-than-container load (LCL) shares one and is charged per cubic metre.

We book the ocean leg, arrange the container and run the road leg to Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Mumbai Port or Haldia.

Does SSL own vessels or ocean containers?
No. Safe & Secure Logistics does not own vessels or ocean containers. We arrange the capacity for your shipment and manage the movement.
Does SSL hold the NVOCC/MTO registration or customs-broker licence?
Our desk shares the operator’s licence and documents for your shipment on request.
How do I get a quote for sea freight?

What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL books a whole container for your cargo; LCL shares a container and is charged per cubic metre. FCL usually pays off once your cargo fills most of a 20 ft box.
Which ports does SSL haul to?
Safe & Secure Logistics’ port haulage runs via Nhava Sheva, Mumbai Port, Mundra and Haldia.
Can SSL stuff the container at my factory?
Yes, where the shipping line allows factory stuffing; the desk arranges the empty container and hauls the stuffed box to the port.
What container sizes are available?
Standard 20 ft and 40 ft dry containers and 40 ft high-cube are the most common; see the container size guide for inside dimensions.
